70 'Fashion for Women

The early '70s was still dominated by the past ten years, and women wore the iconic mini skirt in the 60s. Although the mini-skirt was very popular with the ladies, soon, a new skirt length as the new trendsetter and this was the midi skirt. A midi-skirt is a mid-calf skirt, with a high waist. Midi skirts were all the rage in the 70s and reached cult status by the mid-70s. This particular length skirts were also seen on dresses, and these were as midi dress. Midi midi skirts and dresses in paisley prints and ditsy floral prints were popular. Materials such as cotton, Superdry, were used chiffon and cotton-blended fabrics especially for such clothing.

One of the most popular fashion trend in the 70 years, the Bell-bottom pants. Bell-bottom pants with high waist and hem and a prominent flaring were with fabrics like satin, velvet, suede and Lycra. The flares were perhaps the most well-known trend of the 70 years for men and women. High waist jeans were issued also very fashionable in the 70s, and theywere in a variety of colors ranging from Prussian blue, acid yellow to dark green and old rose. Women do not shy away, were in strong colors and style of the issued jeans or Superdry Outlet pants usually combined with a printed peasant blouses.

70s' style and silhouettes for women

During the mid-1970s, crop tops, tops and tank tops were very popular. These peaks were usually decorated with diamantes and diamante stones or gold lame with everything and the view was so dramatic and a little over the top. Superdry Hoodies, and the body-hugging short shorts are also very much the rage in this period. High waist shorts soon replaced the more revealing hot pants and they were less form-fitting cut and tailored. Maxi dresses also made an appearance in the mid-70s, and her silhouette was fluid and unstructured. Maxi dresses with floral patterns, and botanical prints were favored by women of the 70s, and they were designed in such materials as cotton, chiffon and organza. The focus for maxi dresses had was about the same comfort and the look more casual and laid-back.

There can be no discussion about 70s "clothes for women is complete without the mention of the suit. RV-colored overalls in metallic Lurex and lame and satin were very much in vogue. These overalls were either printed or in a solid color. bow blouses and peasant blouses, satin and chiffon with floral prints and paisley prints were the rage. This type of blouse had puffed sleeves or bishop sleeves with ruffles and pleat details that give them a soft and romantic look. bow blouses were often worn with jeans or flared bell bottom pantsand were paired with platform shoes.
